Down-regulate Using Osiris Yoga Therapy
A guided somatic exercise to reduce overactivation, ease tension, and reclaim internal safety.
Many people assume down-regulation means slowing down or doing less.
In reality, it is about teaching the nervous system that calm is possible without collapse or avoidance.
The deeper issue is not hyperactivity. It is that many nervous systems are conditioned to stay alert, anticipate threat, or perform under pressure. This keeps energy available but creates tension, anxiety, and fatigue.
This practice explores how to downregulate safely, using embodied strategies that retrain sensation, rhythm, and presence. It is self paced, experiential, and designed for your nervous system, not performance.
This article is a self paced somatic exercise. It is practice based, not informational. Nothing here requires completion, interaction, or performance. You can move through it in parts, return later, or stop at any point.
If you are new here and want to orient yourself before making a financial commitment, there is a separate article database on my Substack that is available without subscription. Those articles are for context, reflection, and understanding. The practice based pieces are intentionally held here.
You are welcome to take your time deciding what kind of engagement feels right.
If you notice tension, agitation, or racing thoughts as you read this, that is your nervous system signaling. This practice is not about “fixing” you. It is about listening and responding with care. If that kind of gentle regulation feels supportive today, you are welcome to continue.
